When Michael hung up the phone, he looked at me and said, "Guess who's getting Married?" I like guessing games. I guessed for a few before he finally spilled the news. And then I knew that if Ken Bradley was getting married, she must be pretty special.  He followed it with, "Guess who's photographing the wedding?" Well that was a no brainer. I've known Ken almost as long as I've known Mike.

Ken and Mandy met a little over a year ago at church in small town northern Mississippi. Both hard working professionals had found little time for dating until they met each other. She shared his love for college football. He shared her love for family. They were Engaged over the Thanksgiving holiday and planned a gorgeous small wedding with the help of Team Mom on both ends.

Without a doubt, their parents saw that what their children shared was special, a bond that could not be broken. This bond was formally celebrated with a wedding at Bellingrath Gardens and their love was on display for all to share.

Mandy and Ken... you are two of the nicest and kindest people I know. Your families are amazing and I can't thank you enough for allowing me to document this fantastic day for you.  Ken, I've never seen you more affectionate than on this day. The love you share makes everything around you better. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness! xoxoxo, Daphne & Mike

Just across the street, past hundreds of sailboats, I could almost see forever enjoying the cool salty air of Pass Christian, Mississippi. This is where they grew up, met and fell in love. Their love is the kind of love story you love to read about. Cautious, long, slow, bubbling with passion and building to this beautiful day at the Blue Rose Mansion surrounded by family and friends.

Their families shed tears of happiness, glasses were raised in honor of their pledge to love each other forever, and everyone danced. And while they danced and smiled gazing into each other's eyes I remembered the words said to them as they exchanged rings. The hands that wear these rings are the hands that will always reach for YOU, they will wipe away both tears of joy and sadness, they will gently hold and nurture your unborn children and even when they wrinkle with time they will still be the hands that reach for YOU.

Amanda and Jessie, thank you for such a wonderful day surrounded by so much beauty. I was so proud to be your photographer. Your family and friends made me feel like one of the gang. I've never gotten so many hugs or given so many high fives. Your love was radiant. I've never seen a groom smile bigger or all night like yours.  Thank you for allowing me to document your special day.

xoxoxo, Daphne

Special thanks to the wonderful sister of the bride who made this day happen for me when I photographed her beautiful wedding over 5 years ago. She is still as lovely today as she was then.

Yes, you can still have a fall beach wedding. Fall weather in the Gulf Coast is a wedding blessing. The air is cooler. No one is sweating or swatting bugs during your "I do's." Guests stay longer. Food stays fresher. And thanks to daylight savings time, the party starts earlier. Wooo Whoo!

Congratulations to Romina and Tim on a gorgeous first year of happily ever after.

Romina and Tim were were photographed on a gorgeous Pensacola Beach before 7pm with a sunset almost as beautiful as my bride. I even wore a sweater, but no shoes. No one wears shoes to a beach wedding. Don't do it.

The third week of July has always been busy for Ellenburg Photography for what seems like forever. This week, every year, for the past 3 years, we've had the pleasure of photographing the first day of happily ever after this week. Two of those years, we did it twice in the week. When I think about it, this particular week I watched five lives join into something amazing. And you better believe that I've learned something at every wedding.

Thank you Kelly & Jon - for my first wedding {ever}  I learned the power of a shoot list & I perfect it with each wedding :-) Congratulations on your 3rd wonderful year together!

Thank you Kristen & Justin - I learned I am talented enough to remove the BP oilspill from your wedding photos. I laughed every time I heard, "thanks a lot BP" knowing my bride will love these shots. Congrats on your second year of Happily Ever After!

Thank you Maria & Mark - I learned that no amount of prayed for rain will wreck a beautiful wedding day. I've never seen more rain bless a day than last year at Maria's Wedding. Congratulations on your First year of Wedded Bliss!

Thank you Tiffany & Marlon - I learned not to be afraid to stand on a chair to capture the best dance photos of all time. Hands down the best wedding dancing I've ever seen! Congratulations on your first year together!

The truth about me photographing your wedding is that, while I'm there with you, some part of me is thinking about my wedding. I remember being that nervous bride, fussing over my curls and admiring my perfect shoes and imagining the most wonderful life that Michael and I are going to have. And while I'm framing up your wedding shot by shot, I know that you're thinking these same thoughts. And sometimes, oh heck, all the time, EVERY Wedding....while I know you're thinking the things that I'm thinking...I tear up. Yep, I cry at every wedding. Eyes welled up ready to burst at least once at every wedding.

Blog 120527 Amanda Wedding Edits-52a

I used to think that it was sooooooo unprofessional that I'm welled up like your grandmother as you come down the ailse...but now, that I've found the most perfect water-proof mascara,  I think that is just one of the genuine things about me, about us at Ellenburg Photography. Michael and I are truly happy for you on this day. We know love because we're completely in love - the full gooey, doe-eyed sometimes messy, but always exciting, the good with the bad forever kind of love.. and that makes us a great team at your wedding. Know this, behind those welled up eyes, I'm taking some of the most breath taking photographs that you could ever imagine of you and your beautiful wedding day.
