Shake, Rattle and Roll made for an interesting theme this week. We saw lots of great photos from dice to Bells, cars and even Christmas cats. With all the great things we Shake Rattle and Roll, its always hard to pick one fun to photograph. When I was prepping my shot for this week...I had a couple things on my list that didn't make the shots this week ... like frosty Snow globes or frosty Martinis. Maybe I just wanted a Martini, any way.... on to the top ten.

Our top ten is always in no particular order. If you enjoy the photograph, check out the artist's links below the photo. Visit their sites, join their pages - everyone could use a little encouraging pat on the back, so go ahead and pat away!

Irving Berlin said it best, "When I'm worried and I can't sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep."  Our lives are moving fast, it's nice to slow down and count our blessings. There is plenty to be thankful for.  Thanksgiving created a wonderful backdrop for this week's "Thankful" Theme. It was so nice to peek into your lives to see the things you are thankful for. It was wonderful to see we put a value on a lot of the same things. Not surprisingly, family topped most of our lists. As a wonderful Thanksgiving has come and gone, my wish is that we embrace all the wonderful things we are thankful for and hold them in our heart all year long.

Our top ten is in no particular order. If you enjoy the artist, the link to his/her work is below it. Check them out, become their fans, send them some love. Everyone can use an encouraging pat on the back, so go ahead and pat away. Here we go...

Week 48's theme is "Shake. Rattle. and/or Roll." Pick one, two or three.

As college football around the country is winding down, Alabama is gearing up for the Iron Bowl. Alabama versus Auburn. I am a HUGE Alabama fan. I know, you don't get it because I'm from Louisiana, but it was in the marriage contract. Michael said if he had to write his own wedding vows that in them would be that I could never root against the tide. I promised, we went with traditional vows and here we are, one big Crimson loving family. It's a big deal here - I'm predicting 59-0. {Fingers crossed} and Roll Tide Roll!

What's new with Daphne Ellenburg?

This week, I sort of coasted on through sitting by the light of my Christmas tree. {Yes, it's been up since October 15th. I like a full 2.5 months of Christmas Joy.} It's nice to sit back and watch the excitement of the holidays brimming through the eyes of my Ellenburg Babes. Things heard this week: "Do you think Jeffery will come in the mail from the North Pole?" {Jeffery is our house elf on a shelf.} Maybe. "If I get the wish bone from the turkey, can I make a bigger wish because it's a bigger bone?" Definitely. "Are we going to hang the stockings?" Yes. It's been a full week, here's a few exciting things.

Mike landed this "Mis-fortune" cookie. I remember when fortune cookies were cool.

Untitled

Jeffery did indeed return via elf magic Thursday Morning, just in time for the Macy's day parade.

Untitled

Here is a photo of my Mother. {Who is rarely in front of my camera} This is the first year, I was able to find something wonderful enough to distract her long enough from the kitchen to allow me to cook a full Thanksgiving Feast. There was too much food. I created everything but the Turkey and the Dressing. Mike makes a fine turkey and I've tried and failed many times to make a dressing as good as my Mom, so why bother ruining another dressing that I would make everyone at least try before I offer apology.

FB 121123 SHAKE-04A

Couldn't you be distracted by this guy? Jefferson is wearing his vintage pilgrim wear. Vintage meaning his big brother, Jackson wore this 12 years ago on Thanksgiving and Grant did the same 9 years ago.

FB 121123 SHAKE-08A

Another first, this week are these...

Untitled

My husband often brings me flowers, but never sends them via a happy stranger. I got this delivered while with my husband. And immediately thought, these are my favorite flowers, who knows me this well? Ofcourse, it's Michael. So thoughtful, so loving, so Michael. As I celebrate my birthday eve, all I want today is to paint my nails and enjoy an Alabama victory...not just an ordinary victory - I'm wishing for an annihilation.

I'll be 37 tomorrow. I remember when I thought 30 was old, now if feels like everything before that was just a warm up for the greatest years of my life.

Wishing you a wonderful week filled with family, fun and photography! Make it a great week!

Letter is always a fun theme for photography. As a photographer, we see things differently, I see letters all day every day everywhere. It's fun to have a reason to hunt for them and to be creative with our findings. This week our great group of photographers really went out and found and created some great shots with the Letter theme.

As always, our top ten is in no particular order. The artist's links are below each shot. If you enjoy the shot, check out the artist. Join their pages. Send them some love. There is nothing more enjoyed than the occasional pat on the back - so pat away. Here we go...

"Once upon a time, a very long time ago, I was a teenager in love. My sweet boyfriend went to a different different high school than me but we worked at the same place. Since we did not see each other every day, we would leave each other notes in my mailbox. He would drive by at night and leave me cards and letters and I would rush out to get them first thing every morning. I eventually married that boyfriend and we will celebrate our 35th anniversary next month. I have kept this shoebox full of love notes in my closet all this time."

Week 47's theme is "Thankful"

An easy theme for this week, as many people are enjoying a personal challenge of picking something they are thankful for each day during the month of November. I am thankful for something that's easy to overlook as our days get busier and each day runs into the next... I am thankful for my four Healthy Children.

What's New with Daphne Ellenburg?

This week, I did a little shopping with my best girl, Madison. We treated ourselves to the new OPI James Bond Nail polish. {I have a real problem with buying nail polish.} I'm wearing "Skyfall" and Madison is wearing a wonderful combination of Skyfall, Golden eye and The spy who loved me.

Untitled

I'm still deciding on my annual nutcracker purchase. I'm leaning toward this guy from Pier One for my kitchen bookshelf.

Untitled

Madison wanted this guy. I said no. Does he look like a reindeer in a full body cast to anyone else?

Untitled

I've really been enjoying my new "Reality" TV that Michael bought me. I watch it all the time. It's completely addicting. New Mom's beware.

Untitled

Baby Jefferson had a great 2 month check up this week. He's 25 inches long and up to 12 giant baby pounds. He's outgrown most of his 3 month clothes - he's my longest baby ever.

Untitled

As I'm preparing for the Thanksgiving Feast, Sweet Potatoes, have been a hot button around here. I always make a sweet potato casserole - you know the one with all the marshmallows, nuts and brown sugar? Anyway, I buy yams. Michael had a full on debate with me that yams are NOT sweet potatoes and that I should call it a Yam casserole because that's what it is. I of course said, "Well just don't eat it." {Ah, the holiday debates have begun. I love our mini debates.} I sent him this photo yesterday. It made me smile.

Untitled

There is a lot to be thankful for this week. Count your blessing and spread the love. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I'm very thankful for you and our wonderful group of talented photographers.

What's new with Daphne?

I have been pretty down in the dumps this week. Well, I knew it would happen sooner or later, but Maternity leave is officially over. This felt like the busiest week ever.  I'm beat and thankful for the long weekend ahead. My baby needs extra holding.

Last night, I went to the Art Walk in downtown Mobile, Alabama to see a great show.

Arts

Faces by Jerrid Jones was a total hit. Mike and I, with our bestie Aaron, saw every exhibit on Dauphin street. Jerrid's was easily and by far the most original and creative Art work we saw. His bold metallic colors just popped right off the walls and his creative ideas were nothing short of inspiring. It was great to see a friend having such a total rock star moment. Thanks for inviting us to the show. Click here to see more of Jerrid's work.

Wishing you a wonderful week filled with Fun, Family and Photography! Make it a great week!

Red, White and Blue are pretty active colors this week in the US with the excitement and anticipation of election day coming next week. We gave our photographers the choice of one or any combination of these colors for this week's Project 52 Theme. What's New with Daphne Ellenburg?

I have been a little down in the dumps this week. I'm 100% positive that it's because my maternity leave is winding to a spiraling end. Sad face. I sure like the excuse of having to hold my baby all day. It works for everything.

Keeping that in mind, I've been packing this week full of everything I can and I'm really beat!

Halloween was a winner. Great costumes. Great photos. Great Trick or Treating and one amazing party.

Untitled

Celebrated Grant's Straight A report card at the Mobile Fair with the Ellenburg Six. I love going to the fair. Bright colors. Great tasty smells. Mmmmmm. I forced everyone to eat at "Daphne's Diner" so I could feel like I made dinner. {I felt good about it.}

Untitled

And then today after only 3 hours of sleep I chaperoned a field trip to the Greek Fest with my oldest boy, Jackson. Mmmmm. A tasty trip indeed.

Untitled

So, needless to say, I'm exhausted; but I'm happy. I wouldn't have traded the past 8 weeks of baby holding and Super Momness {my new favorite word} for anything.  Now, I guess I'll just try to take my multitasking to a whole new level. I will miss you Maternity leave. Sigh.

Remember friends, Tuesday is election day. Vote. Make your vote count and if you can, vote twice. Just kidding. {Mostly.}
